Land Survey Project Manager 

Wallace Morris Kline Surveying, (WMK) seeks highly motivated Survey Project Manager (PM) for managing projects and a team. The PM will manage the development of multiple survey projects and work in conjunction with clients as well as other office & field staff to ensure quality and timeliness of project completion.

PM’s Essential Functions

  1. Knowledge of control/boundary surveys, construction staking, ALTA/NSPS surveys, and topographic surveys.
  2. Perform and have knowledge of Final Maps, Parcel Maps, Record of Surveys, Vacations, Commercial Plats, Corner Records, etc.
  3. Prepare Legal Descriptions & Exhibits.
  4. Strong Multi-tasking, technical and administrative skills along with the ability to be organized.
  5. Title and property description knowledge.
  6. Job Calculation (Reviewing of field crew’s notes).
  7. Coordinating with crew chiefs, drafters and other PM’s.
  8. AutoCAD drafting experience. Excellent CAD skills are a plus.
  9. Familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  10. Knowledge of the principles, techniques and practices of land surveying.
  11. Knowledge of civil engineering and construction specifications plans.
  12. Possess good interpersonal skills, and effective written and oral communication skills.
  13. Must be able to work cohesively within a team setting and independently.
  14. Attendance, punctuality and reliability are essential requirements.

Land Surveyor CAD Technician

Summary:
Prepares computer-generated land surveying drawings according to established standards and procedures. CAD skills are required to visualize and portray intricate mapping features. The Land Surveyor CAD Technician will work closely with the design originator and Project Manager.

Essential Functions:

• Researches, prepares, and completes maps, exhibits, and legal descriptions using CAD software programs
• Preparation of horizontal control and right-of-way plans
• Preparation of topographic maps from field data
• Revises or changes drawings per management staff or per comments from entities and/or client
• Conducts research and obtains information pertaining to specific projects as required
• Completes closure calculations
• Maintains organized files relating to plans, drawings, and sketches, which will allow access to project information for the Project Manager and other team members as required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Knowledge of Boundary, Topographic, and ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys
• Knowledge of Legal Descriptions and Exhibits
• Ability to interpret land records
• Ability to learn and follow the company’s CAD standards

Desired Skills: (but not required)
• Knowledge of Nevada Water Rights
• Ability to perform research of land records at the County Recorder’s office and Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) office
• Ability to perform online research of land records from County Recorder’s website, BLM, US Coast and Geodetic Survey, Nevada Division of Water Resources and other Nevada land records.

Education and Experience Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Associates Degree or Bachelor’s degree in related field is preferred.
A minimum of two (2) years of experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.

Party Chief Position

Wallace Morris Kline Surveying, a well-respected Land Surveying firm seeks highly motivated Party Chief with a minimum of (5) years’ experience as a party chief, LSIT preferred.

Job Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of control/boundary surveys, construction staking, ALTA/ACSM and topographic surveys, and able to prepare clear field notes among other duties as assigned.
  • Knowledge and ability to perform proper field checks before, during and after all field surveys.
  • Read and understand plans and specifications.
  • Perform mathematical calculations and checking data.
  • Proficient with Trimble total stations (S6 Robotic), GPS (static/RTK), data collectors (TSC2/3).
  • Must be able to work cohesively within a team setting and independently.
  • In good health, physically able to work/hike for long hours and carry heavy loads.
  • Possess good written, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able and willing to travel.
  • Attendance, punctuality and reliability are essential requirements.
  • Able to work in inclement weather.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • OSHA 30 Certification required or to be completed within 2 weeks of hire.

The following is a summation of the benefits currently offered by Wallace Morris Kline Surveying, LLC. (WMK)

Full-time employees working more than 30 hours per week are eligible to participate in all benefits the first day of the month following 60 days of employment.

Health Insurance

As of September 1, 2018, the company’s health insurance carrier is Aetna.  The coverage offers two PPO plans. Currently, WMK pays 100% of the plan premium for employees only.  Employees pay 100% of the premium for spouse and/or dependents. Employee paid premiums are conveniently deducted from bi-weekly paychecks on a “pre-tax” basis at a maximum of two times per month.  Details of plan benefits can be found in the attached Enrollment Guide.

Dental / Vision

As of September 1, 2018, the company’s dental and vision carrier is Principal.  Currently, WMK pays 100% of the plan premium for employees only.  Employees pay 100% of the premium for spouse and/or dependents. Employee paid premiums are conveniently deducted from bi-weekly paychecks on a “pre-tax” basis at a maximum of two times per month.  Details of plan benefits can be found in the attached Enrollment Guide.

Life Insurance

As of September 1, 2018, the company’s group life insurance carrier is Principal.  WMK provides $25,000 worth of life insurance coverage for each employee, at no cost to the employee.  The policy is a portable plan, and employees are eligible to “buy-up” life insurance for themselves, their spouse and/or their children at nominal rates paid through after-tax payroll deductions.

Principal – Personal Insurance Coverage

In addition to the benefits offered by WMK, employees can purchase personal insurance policies through Principal.  Some of the policies offered are short term disability, accident coverage and critical illness.  When electing personal insurance, an employee’s payments are conveniently made through bi-weekly payroll deductions.

401(K) and Profit Sharing

WMK’s 401(K) plan is through Merrill Lynch and its administrator is Ascensus.  Full-time employees are eligible to join the 401(K)-plan following six months of employment (quarterly entry).  Ascensus has a web site (www.asensus.com) that makes it easy to enroll, monitor and manage your 401(K) plan.  WMK currently provides up to a 4% “matching contribution” to an employee’s contribution, which is 100% vested from day one.

PTO/Vacation

Employees earn two weeks (80 hours) paid personal time off for the first year.  Accrual begins following 90-day probationary period.  PTO increases to three weeks (120 hours) the second year of employment.

Holidays

Nine (9) paid company holidays per year.  Holidays are paid after 90-day probationary period.
