EXPERIENCED CAD TECHNICIAN

 Wallace Morris Kline Surveying, LLC – Las Vegas, NV

Wallace Morris Kline Surveying (WMK), a top-ranked land surveying firm in Nevada, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented CAD Technician with proven experience in survey drafting and data management. Established in 2006, WMK is a well-respected, land surveying–only firm with a reputation for precision, quality, and exceptional client service. Our projects range from complex boundary and ALTA/NSPS surveys to large-scale infrastructure, energy, and development work across Nevada and surrounding states.


Essential Functions

  • Prepare computer-generated survey drawings, maps, exhibits, and legal descriptions in accordance with WMK standards. 
  • Reduce field data and create topographic, boundary, right-of-way, and construction staking plans from survey crew data. 
  • Produce horizontal control plans, right-of-way plans, and topographic mapping from aerial and field data. 
  • Revise and update drawings per Project Manager, client, or agency comments. 
  • Conduct closure calculations and verify mathematical accuracy in survey deliverables. 
  • Perform research on deeds, plats, and other public records as needed for project accuracy. 
  • Maintain organized CAD files for easy team access and reference. 


Qualifications

  • 2+ years’ experience in land surveying CAD production (AutoCAD Civil 3D required). 
  • Strong understanding of boundary resolution techniques, survey calculations, and field-to-finish processes. 
  • Ability to interpret field notes, legal descriptions, and survey control data. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). 
  • LSIT/PLS certification preferred but not required. 
  • Familiarity with Nevada land records and BLM documentation a plus.

FULL-TIME EMPLOYEE (30+ HOURS PER WEEK) BENEFITS

Health Insurance

As of September 1, 2025, the company’s health insurance is an Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangement (ICHRA).  This is a WMK funded health benefit that gives employees a set monthly allowance for health insurance premiums.  The allowance is age based and WMK covers a portion of spouse, child and family coverage. Spouses are excluded if they have coverage through their employer. Employee paid premiums are conveniently deducted from bi-weekly paychecks on a “pre-tax” basis at a maximum of two times per month.  Details of plan benefits can be found in the attached Enrollment Guide.

Dental / Vision

As of September 1, 2018, the company’s dental and vision carrier is Principal. WMK pays 100% of the plan premium for employees only. Employees pay 100% of the premium for spouse and/or dependents. Employee paid premiums are conveniently deducted from bi-weekly paychecks on a “pre-tax” basis at a maximum of two times per month. Details of plan benefits can be found in the attached Enrollment Guide.

Life Insurance

As of September 1, 2018, the company’s group life insurance carrier is Principal. WMK provides $25,000 worth of life insurance coverage for each employee, at no cost to the employee. The policy is a portable plan, and employees are eligible to “buy-up” life insurance for themselves, their spouse and/or their children at nominal rates paid through after-tax payroll deductions.

Principal – Personal Insurance Coverage

In addition to the benefits offered by WMK, employees can purchase personal insurance policies through Principal. Some of the policies offered are short-termdisability, accident coverage and critical illness. When electing personal insurance, an employee’s payments are conveniently made through bi-weekly payroll deductions.

401(K) and Profit Sharing

WMK’s 401(K) plan is through Merrill Lynch and its administrator is Ascensus. Full-time employees are eligible to join the 401(K)-plan following three months of employment (monthly entry). Ascensus has a web site (www.asensus.com)that makes it easy to enroll, monitor and manage your 401(K) plan. WMK currently provides up to a 4% “matching contribution” to an employee’s contribution, which is 100% vested from day one.

PTO/Vacation

Employees earn two weeks (80 hours) paid personal time off for the first year. Accrual begins day one and can be used after the 90-day probationary period. PTO increases to three weeks (120 hours) the second year of employment and four weeks (160 hours) the seventh year. PTO hours accrued in excess of 200 hours and not used by the end of the calendar year will be forfeited.

Holidays

Ten (10) paid company holidays per year. Holidays are paid after 90-day probationary period.
