Our Commitment

WMK is committed to maintaining a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace on every project. We meet or exceed all applicable legal and industry standards, and we take pride in our strong safety record across public works, utility, energy, and private development projects.

Our Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Program is continuously improved through performance monitoring, management reviews, and lessons learned from the field. Safety is not an afterthought — it is integrated into every stage of our project planning and execution.

Certifications & Training

All field employees hold OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 and/or MSHA certifications.
Project-specific training is provided by a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) when required.
Ongoing education ensures that crews stay current with industry best practices and evolving regulatory requirements.

Field Safety Practices

Daily Tailgate Safety Meetings – Address site-specific hazards and reinforce safe work practices.
Traffic Control Protocols – On public rights-of-way and active travel lanes, we work with county-approved traffic control consultants and deploy shadow trucks and flaggers to protect both crews and the public.
PPE Compliance – All personnel are equipped with and trained to use appropriate personal protective equipment for each job site.
Hazard Identification & Mitigation – Proactive identification of site risks and implementation of control measures before work begins.

Environmental Stewardship

We understand that many of our projects occur in environmentally sensitive areas. WMK works in coordination with environmental monitors and agencies to protect natural resources, avoid disturbance to protected species, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
