From small parcels to multi-mile corridors, we perform boundary, topographic, and alignment surveys using GPS RTK, RTX, static GPS, photogrammetry, and LiDAR. Our methods are designed to provide thorough, well-documented deliverables that meet project requirements and comply with applicable state statutes and governing agency requirements. All data collected from the field is reviewed and cross-checked for accuracy to identify and resolve potential errors before deliverables are issued. We also integrate aerial data with field verification to develop detailed 3D terrain models to support design teams with current and reliable information. 

WMK provides surveying services for major transmission lines, solar farms, substations, pipelines, and a wide range of public works and infrastructure projects. Our experience includes utility corridors, transportation improvements, flood control facilities, and other large-scale developments. We understand the unique challenges of these projects — from multi-jurisdictional coordination to complex site conditions — and deliver the control, mapping, and documentation needed to support design, permitting, and construction. 

We research, identify, document, and map rights-of-way and easements for roads, utilities, energy corridors, and other infrastructure projects. Our work includes reviewing Bureau of Land Management (BLM) case files, federal and state land records, plats, deeds, easement documents, and right-of-way grants. We combine this records research with field surveys to locate and verify boundary and easement limits. WMK is experienced in navigating multi-jurisdictional requirements and working in remote or complex project areas to support acquisition, design, permitting, and construction. 

WMK provides mapping services for master planned communities, commercial developments, and private sector projects of all sizes, including subdivision plats, parcel maps, records of survey, parcel plats, and corner records. From concept to final filing, we ensure every map meets statutory and local government requirements, delivering accurate and compliant results. 

We provide layout services for public infrastructure, commercial developments, data centers, private residences, large master planned communities, and roadway improvements. Our work includes staking for utilities, energy facilities, public streets, and site-specific features. Each project begins with control verification, plan and cut sheet reviews, and coordination with the project team. All data collected from the field is cross-checked for accuracy to identify and correct potential errors before it is issued. We maintain communication throughout construction to adapt to design changes or schedule adjustments, helping projects move forward efficiently while reducing the need for rework. 

WMK provides aerial mapping services and LiDAR data verification to support planning, design, and construction projects. We work with aerial imagery, LiDAR point clouds, and photogrammetry products, comparing them against field-collected survey measurements to confirm positional accuracy and identify discrepancies. This process helps ensure that design teams are working from current, verifiable surface data and 3D terrain models. 

3D scanning is the process of capturing the shape — and in some cases the appearance — of a real-world object or environment to create a digital three-dimensional model. Various scanning technologies are available, each with specific advantages, limitations, and costs. 

3D scanning data is valuable for applications such as engineering design, quality control, inspection, and detailed documentation. WMK uses 3D scanning to capture precise measurements of complex structures and environments. For example, WMK has applied this technology on Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) projects to document bridge and flyover geometry for design and construction purposes.

The American Land Title Association (ALTA) and the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) publish national standards for land title surveys, updated periodically to reflect current industry practices. These surveys are designed to meet the needs of property owners, title companies, lenders, and attorneys.

WMK prepares ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys in full compliance with the latest standards. Our process combines thorough records research — including deeds, plats, easements, and BLM documents — with detailed field measurements to provide a clear representation of boundaries, improvements, easements, and other site conditions. We coordinate closely with title companies, legal counsel, and other stakeholders to ensure the survey addresses all required items.

WMK provides qualified expert witness services in the areas covered under our professional surveying practice. Our experts have experience conducting field investigations, preparing technical reports, providing deposition testimony, and appearing in court.

Every case begins with an initial consultation to fully understand the circumstances, objectives, and technical issues involved. Each matter is unique and requires a preliminary review to define the scope of services, deliverables, and fees.

When an expert is assigned, WMK selects the professional whose qualifications and experience best align with the case. That expert — supported by a dedicated project team — will oversee and/or perform all necessary investigation, field work, evidence review, and report preparation to ensure a thorough and defensible presentation of findings.

Nevada is the driest state in the nation, and throughout the West, water rights are critical to the success of communities, industries, and agriculture. WMK’s state-appointed Water Right Surveyors provide services to urban public agencies, rural water districts, ranches, and agricultural operations. Each project begins with a thorough assessment of the client’s needs and goals to ensure the right approach and documentation.

Our services include preparing and supporting filings, applications for new appropriations, and change applications for place or manner of use or point of diversion. We handle proofs of completion and beneficial use, extensions of time, reports of conveyance, abstracts of title, pumpage reporting, and historical research for basin inventories. WMK also coordinates with local, state, and federal agencies, as well as environmental engineers, geologists, and well drillers, to deliver complete and compliant water right solutions.

WMK offers innovative solutions to meet the demands of our mining clients. All of our field personnel are Mining Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) certified. Project planning, utilization of conventional surveying technology, GPS and remote-control bathymetric boats provide time efficiencies and realized costs savings.
